Charles Liang, President, Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of the Board, Supermicro
Charles Liang founded Supermicro and has served as our President, Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of the Board since our inception in September 1993. Mr. Liang has been developing server system architectures and technologies for the past two decades.
From July 1991 to August 1993, Mr. Liang was President and Chief Design Engineer of Micro Center Computer Inc., a high-end motherboard design and manufacturing company. From January 1988 to April 1991, Mr. Liang was Senior Design Engineer and Project Leader for Chips & Technologies, Inc., a chipset technology company, and Suntek Information International Group, a system and software development company. Mr. Liang has been granted many server technology patents. Mr. Liang holds an M.S. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Texas at Arlington and a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from National Taiwan University of Science & Technology in Taiwan.
Alper Ilkbahar, Vice President in the Data Platforms Group & General Manager of the Intel® Optane Group (IOG), Intel® Corporation
Alper Ilkbahar is Vice President in the Data Platforms Group and General Manager of the Intel® Optane Group (IOG) at Intel® Corporation. He oversees the development and enablement of memory and storage solutions by integrating innovative hardware and software for next-generation data centers.
A veteran of the semiconductor and storage industries, Ilkbahar rejoined Intel in 2016 from SanDisk Corporation (acquired by Western Digital Technologies Inc.). Most recently at SanDisk, he was vice president and general manager of storage-class memory solutions, a business unit dedicated to non-volatile, high-performance memory technology. He led the group’s commercialization efforts, overseeing engineering, marketing and ecosystem development.
Ilkbahar earned a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from Boğaziçi University in Istanbul, Turkey; a master’s degree in electrical engineering from the University of Michigan; and an MBA degree from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. He holds more than 50 patents in the fields of semiconductor process, device, design and testing and has published multiple conference and journal papers in his areas of expertise.
Rajiv Ramaswami, President and CEO, Nutanix
Rajiv is the President and CEO of Nutanix. He joined in December, 2020 from VMware, where he served as Chief Operating Officer of Products and Cloud Services. Prior to this role, Rajiv led VMware’s Networking and Security business, one of the fastest-growing units in the company, as executive vice president and general manager. Before joining VMware, he served as Executive Vice President and General Manager, Infrastructure and Networking at Broadcom, where he established Broadcom as a leader in data center, enterprise and carrier networking. In his prior General Manager roles at Cisco, he led multibillion dollar product lines in switching, data center and storage and optical networking. Earlier in his career, he held various leadership positions at Nortel, Tellabs and IBM. Rajiv earned his BTech in Electrical Engineering at the Indian Institute of Technology and his Master’s and PhD in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at the University of California, Berkeley. He is an Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers Fellow and holds 36 patents, primarily in optical networking.
Tarkan Maner, Chief Commercial Officer, Nutanix
Tarkan Maner is the Chief Commercial Officer at Nutanix where he leads global business development and corporate development efforts, with a focus on strategic partnerships, alliances, system integrators, and service providers. Additionally, his responsibilities include leading critical hybrid cloud-focused strategy and product teams including Nutanix’s core virtualization platform (AHV), software-defined networking, and some of the key hybrid cloud services. Before joining Nutanix, he served as Chairman and CEO at Nexenta Systems, Inc., leading the organization from its open-source focus through its acquisition by DataDirect Networks (DDN) in May 2019. Prior to Nexenta, he was the President and CEO at Wyse Technology, one of the virtual desktop computing pioneers acquired by Dell in 2012. He also held executive roles at Dell, CA Technologies, IBM, and Sterling Software. Tarkan serves and served on the boards of several organizations including Teradici, CloudCheckr, Wheels, and leading non-profit organizations in Silicon Valley.
Anantha Adiga, Cloud Solutions Architect, Intel® Optane Group, Intel®
Anantha Adiga is a Cloud Solutions Architect with Intel®’s Intel® Optane Group. He has been leading Optane memory and Optane SSD based storage solutions for HCI and SDS platforms. His recent contribution has been in developing external data node solution for RedHat OpenShift platform for Ceph IO acceleration and caching features. Anantha has worked in the enterprise storage industry for over 17 years. Prior to joining Intel, he was at Hitachi Data Systems in presales focusing on converged infrastructure for database solutions and at Vertias in engineering developing database solutions.
Curtis Anderson, Software Architect, Panasas
Curtis Anderson started writing software 45 years ago and has spent the last 36 years in a wide variety of filesystem and storage software, having contributed to the technology and vision of over a dozen startups and large corporations. Anderson’s best known project is as one of the original five architects of the XFS filesystem now in wide use in Linux. He participated in the IEEE for 14 years, including as the Sponsor Chair for the IEEE 1244 Working Group, balloting and publishing a formal standard. Anderson also served on the Program Committee for the IEEE/NASA Goddard Mass Storage Systems Conference for 12 years. In his role as Software Architect at Panasas, Anderson is responsible for coordinating technology teams working on the various elements of PanFS, the Panasas parallel filesystem. Prior to joining Panasas, Anderson served as a Technical Director at NetApp and was an Architect at EMC/Data Domain
Eric Burgener, Research Vice President, Enterprise Infrastructure Practice, IDC
Eric Burgener is Research Vice President within IDC’s Enterprise Infrastructure Practice. Mr. Burgener’s core research coverage includes Storage Systems, Software and Solutions, quarterly trackers, end-user research as well as advisory services and consulting programs. Based on his background covering enterprise storage, Mr. Burgener’s research includes a particular emphasis on flash-optimized arrays, emerging persistent memory technologies, and software-defined storage. He is an active participant in the IT Buyers Research Program at IDC and is recognized by ARInsights as a member of the ARchitect Analyst Power 100.
Shimon Ben-David, CTO, Wekaio
Mr. Shimon Ben-David actively engages with customers and partners to track emerging trends and to bring actionable feedback to Engineering and Product Management.
In his near 7 years at Weka, he has had leadership roles in both Support and Sales Engineering.
Prior to joining Weka he ran Support Services for Primary Data, XtremIO, and IBM. Shimon met the leadership team of WekaIO when he managed IT at XIV, acquired by IBM in 2007.
Mr. Ben-David studied Computer Science and Philosophy at Ramat Gan University.

Rob Davis is the Vice President of Storage Technology at the Nvidia Networking Business Unit where he focuses on ways to apply high-speed interface technology to storage systems. As technology leader and visionary for more than 35 years, he has been a key evaluator and decision maker for the development of storage networking products. He is currently leading the development and marketing of products based on NVMe over fabrics, which will allow for the high-speed networking of PCIe-based storage. Davis was previously Vice President and Chief Technology Officer at QLogic, where for 15 years he drove development and marketing of Fibre Channel, Ethernet and InfiniBand technology into new markets such as blade servers. Prior to QLogic, Davis spent 20 years at Ancor Communications, which QLogic acquired in 2000. At Ancor, Davis served as Vice President of Advanced Development, Director of Technical Marketing, and Director of Engineering. He drove development and marketing of their Fibre Channel products in the early 90s and their InfiniBand products in the late 90s. Davis’ in-depth expertise spans Virtualization, Ethernet, Fibre Channel, SCSI, iSCSI, InfiniBand, RoCE, SAS, PCI, PM, SATA, and Flash Storage.
Frederik De Schrijver, Product Manager, ActiveScale, Quantum Corporation

His vast experience puts him in a unique position to understand needs of the HPC customer. Randy has primarily supported the DoD and Intelligence Community for the majority of his years in HPC.
Full-filling both pre and post-sales roles along with benchmarking, technical writing and speaking, Randy helped to architect some of the largest data ingest high performing storage systems in the world. The advent of solid state disk has created new opportunities and his focus remains in high speed file systems using the latest technology available across the Super Micro product line.

Liran Zvibel, CEO and Co-founder, Wekaio
As Co-Founder and CEO, Mr. Liran Zvibel guides long term vision and strategy at WekaIO. Prior to creating the opportunity at WekaIO, he ran engineering at social startup and Fortune 100 organizations including Fusic, where he managed product definition, design and development for a portfolio of rich social media applications.
Liran also held principal architectural responsibilities for the hardware platform, clustering infrastructure and overall systems integration for XIV Storage System, acquired by IBM in 2007.
Mr. Zvibel holds a BSc in Mathematics and Computer Science from Tel Aviv University.
